About thinksmart

Due to dental and eyeglass needs, I am withdrawing my request for donations to cover the costs of a short-term missions trip to Pawley's Island off the coast of South Carolina, scheduled for August 1st thru August 8th, 2009.  I hope to volunteer my time and skills in the future to do whatever I can to help others as well as share the word of God.  I you hear of anyone else willing to give their time and share their knowledge, I hope you will open you heart and do whatever you can.

This island off the coast of South Carolina is something special.  In the middle of this vacation paradise is a broken community.  For many years the racial divisions have been ignored as the community has enjoyed a growing and expanding economy.  Unfortunately, the only community seeming to benefit from all the growth has been the affluent white community.  As Pawley's has continued to grow and expand so has the division between the white and African-American communities.

Mission trips for students are one of the most powerful experiences a student can have while in school.  You have heard it said by returning students that they got more out of the experience than the people they went to serve.  Besides work projects, evangelism outreaches, and a strong discipleship program, an added leadership component takes the trips to the next level.

God Bless!

ONE MINUTE WITH GOD

Yet give attention to your servant's prayer and his plea for mercy, O LORD my God. Hear the cry and the prayer that your servant is praying in your presence this day” (1 Kings 8:28).

Most of us put great value on prayer.   It is our way of communicating with God.  We do pray a lot. We pray for big issues and small concerns alike.  We pray for our family, relatives, friends and even enemies (I am sure you do).  We pray for our country and political leaders.  We pray for the church and our spiritual family.  We pray for ourselves too.  It seems we will never run out of people, things and concerns to pray about.

We pray in faith. Without seeing God, we pray with all our emotions.  Intimately, we pour out our heart and mind’s content.  But have you ever thought what if you will have one minute with God, face to face with the heavenly Father? What will you tell the Lord if you have 60 seconds to talk to him and say your prayer personally?

Dear Friend, I am writing my ebook – A MINUTE WITH GOD – and I want to share it with you.  If you have the heart to share, help and inspire other people, let’s put together our prayers and send it out to every nation.  I believe God answer our prayer through people and situations he brings into our life. Many people could be a blessing had they only know our prayer.

If you have the conviction to be blessed and be a blessing, please share your “One Minute Prayer” with me.  The prayer may not be necessarily personal or for your family.  It could be for your friend, church or country.  Maybe you want to intercede for someone who is in great need but you alone cannot fulfill it.  Maybe you are desperately praying something for your office, church or county.  Whatever it is, I pray for your openness to share it to the world.

Please send your contribution to adette_purto@mindsolutionsmarketing.com, Subject: ONE MINUTE PRAYER, not later than June 14, 2008. Soon as I received 59 prayers, I will release A MINUTE WITH GOD with my personal prayers.  I have strong faith that as the world read our prayers; God’s mighty hand shall be upon us.

[NOTE: All contributors shall have free copy of the book]

Single Mothers Need A Little Vacation

M.O.M.S., MakingLemonade.com & SingleMoms.com have teamed to help single Moms and their children.

As founders of our single parent organizations, we know first hand the struggles most single parents families on a daily basis. The most common challenge for working single moms is just making it through the month with enough budget to buy the bare necessities and pay the bills.

This is why we created Give A Single Mom A Vacation! It's simple for our single moms to participate. Each month our members contribute $5 to have their name included in the following months drawing for a vacation giveaway. Some members put in $10 or $20 and they are given an extra entry for every $5 they enter. Or in some cases, the members put in extra for to enter the name of a single mom who cannot afford the $5. Our first vacation will be awarded September 15, 2006. Gift From God founder Brian Cook will draw a members name literally from out of a hat and that Mom and her kids are going on a VACATION. Every single dollar contributed is used for that months giveaway.

Unfortunately, the majority of the members cannot even afford the $5. Five Dollars is equal to a Gallon of milk or a couple of gallons of gas which will make the difference in getting to work or not. So, as some of us can sponsor a few members that cannot afford to contribute toward the drawing, we certainly need help in sponsoring others.

Please consider sponsoring one or more of our members.

Thank you,
Ms. Spencer Betz
